About NAS


NAS Insurance Brokers was formed by four experienced insurance advisers in May 2001, in anticipation of the FSRA (Financial Service Reform Act 2001). The NAS Insurance Brokers founders realised that the Act would require major changes to their business operations.

A new, efficient approach to managing the business was needed, based on a computerised management system that would give Advisers access to products, assist compliance and enable monitoring and auditing. To have a single source of customer information and be accessible to Advisers across Australia, the system had to be underpinned by reliable Web-based technology.

In June 2001, Siebel was chosen as the preferred supplier. Siebel Systems (www.siebel.com) is the world's leading provider of eBusiness application software. The modules licensed by NAS have been customised to meet the needs of professional general insurance advisers and brokers operating under the FSRA.

NAS holds an Australian Financial services licence and distributes insurance products nationally through a network of Advisers and Brokers acting as Authorised Representatives. NAS is a member of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) and the Australasian Association of Insurance Brokers (AAIB).

The NAS head office is located in Perth; addresses for our offices in other locations can be found on the State Offices page. NAS staff provide insurance services, accounting services, and IT services to our Authorised Representatives, allowing them to focus on supporting their clients and growing their business. The “buying power” of our ARs’ combined portfolios means we have established an extensive panel of insurers to cover almost any risk.
